The crisis and enlargement into the Balkans – Skopje - 1st March 2013
The French Institute of Skopje, with the support of the Robert Schuman Foundation, organised a series of conferences in Skopje on "The crisis and the candidate countries for EU membership". The first conference entitled "Why has there been a crisis?" took place on March 1st. Frank Lirzin, an expert working for the Foundation and an economist specialised in monetary policy issues, the European economy and macro-finance, took part in the debate alongside some Macedonian political leaders.

Conference: "Bringing Citizens closer to Europe" - Enghien - 23

The Institute for International and Strategic Relations (IRIS) organised the 5th European Meeting in Enghien-les-Bains on 23rd February 2013 together with the Robert Schuman Foundation on the theme of "Bringing Europe and its Citizens closer together". On this occasion the Chairman of the Robert Schuman Foundation, Jean-Dominique Giuliani presented the "Schuman Report on the State of the Union 2013" to be published on 28th February. Commemoration Ceremony of the 50th anniversary of the Elysée Treaty - 22

On 22nd January 2013 a solemn commemoration by the French and Germany governments was being held in Berlin with the National Assembly and the Bundestag, as well as with the Senate and the Bundesrat on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Elysée Treaty. At the end of the day there was a concert at the Berlin Philharmoniker on the invititation of Joachim Gauck, President of the German Federal Republic. Robert Schuman Foundation Chairman, Jean-Dominique Giuliani, was attending the ceremony.

14th Franco-German strategic forum "Can Europe still defend itself?" - 28

The Konrad Adenauer Stiftung and the Ifri(Cerfa) are organising the 14th Franco-German strategic forum in Berlin entitled "Can Europe still defend itself?" The Chairman of the Robert Schuman Foundation, Jean-Dominique Giuliani, will be speaking during the first session, which will focus on the need to introduce a Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP)
