Debate: "The future of Europe" – Paris - 24
th April 2013
The "Club des Tendances Fondamentales" in collaboration with the Robert Schuman Foundation organized a debate titled "Visions on the Future of Europe" on 24th April. Jean-Dominique Giuliani, with Karel De Gucht, European Commissioner for Trade, Sir Peter Ricketts, British Ambassador to France, and Joachim Bitterlich, former diplomatic and security advisor to Chancellor Helmut Kohl, participated to the debate chaired by Admiral Lanxade, former Army Chief of Staff.

Conference-debates "Youth Employment in Europe" - Grenoble - 1
st February 2013
The Republic's fifth Etats Généraux devoted to European Youth took place on 1st and 2nd February in Grenoble. The newspaper "Libération" together with around 20 associations, foundations and think-tanks organised around 35 conference-debates on the major challenges facing European youth. The Robert Schuman Foundation organised two debates: the first one was moderated by Magali Balent, Project Manager and Researcher at the Foundation and was called "What is Europe doing to help youth employment?" The second one was focused on "the sense of belonging to the EU among young people".

Launch of the "I want Europe" initiative. Paris - 23
rd January 2013
On 23rd January 2013, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Elysée Treaty, the initiative "I want Europe" organised a conference entitled "the Franco-German friendship, driving force of the European construction". The Robert Schuman Foundation and other think tanks were partners of this event and Jacques Barrot, member of the Constitutional Council and of the Robert Schuman Foundation's board of directors, Jean-Dominique Giuliani, Chairman of the Robert Schuman Foundation, Philippe Herzog, member of Confrontations Europe and Dominique Moïsi, Special Advisor in the Institut Français des Relations Internationales (IFRI), took part in the conference.

France-Germany: a joint repsonsibility for Europe - 16

On 16th January 2013 the Chairman of the Robert Schuman Foundation, Jean-Dominique Giuliani took in a debate at the auditorium of the daily "Le Monde" on the theme of "France-Germany: a joint responsibility for Europe." He debated with Hubert Védrine, former French Foreign Minister, and Susanne Wasum-Rainer, Ambassador for Germany in Paris.

Special Franco-German Day at Sciences-Po - 15
th January 2013
On 15th January 2013 Radio France, together with Arte and ARD, organised a special day at Sciences Po in Paris from midday to 8pm to debate your experiences and proposals for the future of Europe and the Franco-German relationship. More than 26,000 people answered the survey "L'Allemagne, la France et vous?" supported by the Robert Schuman Foundation. The Foundation's General Director Pascale Joannin spoke live on France Culture in the programme 'La Grande Table' from midday to 2pm. Then, she was taking part in the round-table at 2:20pm on "Français et Allemands, une affection de raison?".
