Debate on the Occasion of the Anniversary of the Entry into Force of the Lisbon Treaty in Sofia - 19

On 19th December the Chairman of the Foundation, Jean-Dominique Giuliani took part in a debate at the Bulgarian National Assembly on the occasion of the second anniversary of the entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty. Jean-Dominique Giuliani's speech started with an analysis of the financial crisis, he then revealed his ideas, notably the solutions that he suggested were necessary. On 19th December, the Assembly launched an information and communication campaign devoted to the most urgent European issues.

7th Franco-German Forum on the Future of Europe - 15
th December 2011
Joachim Bitterlich and Jean-Dominique Giuliani organised the 7th Franco-German meeting on 15th December on the future of Europe with the Club Rhénan. This meeting focused on the means for the European Union to overcome the crisis and on the foundations of a common, Franco-German defence policy together with Defence Minister Gérard Longuet.

Debate in Brussels on Immigration - 27
th June 2011
The Robert Schuman Foundation and the Permanent Representation for France at the EU was organising a debate in Brussels on 27th June on the theme of "Immigration, borders, asylum: which European policies?" between Jacques Barrot, former Vice-President of the European Commission for Transport, then Justice, Freedom and Security and Carlos Coelho, MEP (EPP/PT). On the invitation of Ambassador Philippe Etienne, the debate was introduced by Jean-Dominique Giuliani, Chairman of the Foundation. On this theme the Foundation has just published a European Interview with Jacques Barrot.

Meeting with 4 young Egyptians bloggers - 14
th April 2011
On the 14th April The Robert Schuman Foundation received 4 young Egyptians bloggers (MM. Yamen Nouh, Karim Boutros-Ghali, Amr Adel and Ms Nihal Al Banna) who demonstrated with thousands of other Egyptians in Tahrir Square and who overturned Hosni Mubarak's regime. Alongside to Valérie Hoffenberg, National Secretary of the UMP in charge of relations with think tanks, the Chairman of the Robert Schuman Foundation Jean-Dominique Giuliani presented the main aims and purpose of the Foundation.
