16th November 2009German Chancellor Angela Merkel delivered the detailed programme of her government to the Bundestag on 10th November. She is planning to undertake "a serious" analysis of the economic and financial crisis in order to learn from it. Entitled "Growth, Education, Cohesion. Leading Germany towards new power," this declaration includes a five point programme: overcoming the effects of the crisis, improving relations between citizens and the State, reacting intelligently to the ageing population, regulating the use of natural resources and finding a new world order and finally establishing a new relationship between freedom and security. The Chancellor also granted an interview on 16th November to the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) in which she notably speaks of the lack of awareness of the crisis, the meaning of tax reductions, the future of Opel and the Bundeswehr's commitment in Afghanistan.
