Possible agreement on the future of Moldova
23rd April 2012Moldova and the separatist Russian-speaking republic of Transnistria have reached agreement on the principles and procedures for formal negotiations, as well as on the timetable, announced the OSCE on 18th April. The agreement was concluded during negotiations in a "5+2" situation (Moldova, Transnistria, Russia, Ukraine and OSCE, as well as the EU and the USA) in Vienna under the aegis of the OSCE. "I encourage participants to continue on the basis of the results achieved so far to make further progress in view of a complete political agreement," declared the OSCE's ambassador for the conflict over Transnistria, Erwan Fouéré.
