Unemployment affecting 24.4% of the Spanish working population
30th April 2012According to data published on 27th April by the National Statistics Institute, Spain had 5,639,500 unemployed in the first quarter of 2012. The unemployment rate has now reached 24.44% of the working population, up by 1.59%. As far as the autonomous communities are concerned unemployment is highest in Andalusia at 33.17% and the lowest in the Basque country, at 13.55%.
