Structural Reforms at the Service of European Growth
7th May 2012In the German government's opinion the fight to counter the financial and public finance crises in the European States rests on two main pillars: the consolidation of public accounts and support to growth. Budgetary stability is a priority area of action but it is not exclusive. Since the summer of 2011 Berlin has increasingly committed to measures to stimulate growth and employment emphasising structural reform that is part of the long term. In the European countries involved this means reforming the labour markets, alleviating administrative formalities and the removal of obstacles that impede youth and senior employment.
