Further funds for the construction industry and public works in Ireland
23rd July 2012On 17th July 2012 the Irish government announced that it was injecting 2.25 billion euros into its investment programme with the aim of supporting the building industry. The programe's total amount put forward in November 2011 totalled 17 billion euros, staggered over five years, to fund infrastructure projects. The new package should lead to the creation of 13,000 jobs. It will be directed towards building projects in education, healthcare, transport and justice. Depending on the projects work should be completed by 2018 at the latest.
