Council of the Wise

According to a survey published by the German Bertelsmann foundation on 16th October 67% of the French, 65% of the Germans and 47% of the British (in comparisonn with 40% who reject the idea) are in favour of the creation of a "Council of the Wise" suggested by French President Nicolas Sarkozy in July. The Council of the Wise would think in-depth about the future of the European Union. European Commission President José Manuel Barroso qualified the idea as interesting but he said that the council could only play a consultative role. The suggestion receives the approval of all the younger generations.
