RetirementOn 29th July the British government announced a project to abolish the automatic age of retirement of 65 within one year's time. This project aims to abolish, by October 2011, the right of an employer to force an employee to take retirement at 65. This measure is part of a review programme that was previously set out by the government in view of delaying the legal age of retirement. This may rise from 65 to 66 by 2016.
