Die Stiftung Robert Schuman im Herzen Europas

Die 1991 nach dem Fall der Berliner Mauer gegründete und 1992 als gemeinnützig anerkannte Stiftung Robert Schuman setzt sich für die europäische Einigung ein, sowohl theoretisch als auch vor Ort bei den Bürgern. Als anerkanntes Forschungsinstitut zur Europäischen Union hat es sich die Stiftung zur Hauptmission gesetzt, den Geist und die Inspiration eines der "Väter Europas", Robert Schuman, am Leben zu halten und die europäischen Werte und Ideale im Inneren wie außerhalb der Grenzen der Union zu fördern.

Die Stiftung Robert Schuman verfolgt drei Hauptziele:

1. Zu den Debatten und Fortschritten der EU beizutragen
Die Stiftung stützt sich auf ein Netzwerk aus Forschern und Korrespondenten und sichert sich auf regelmäßiger Basis die Dienste von Persönlichkeiten, Experten und Spezialisten der Europäischen Union. Ziel der Studien und Analysen der Stiftung ist es, den europäischen Entscheidungsträgern Informationen und Argumenten sowie qualitative Reflexionselemente zur Union zu bieten. Diese Studien stellen eine kostbare Informationsquelle für alle diejenigen dar, die die europäischen Fragestellungen und Herausforderungen verstehen wollen.

2. Die neuen Mitgliedsstaaten bei ihrer Integration in die Europäische Union zu begleiten und mit den Unions-Nachbarn Beziehungen zu knüpfen
Die Schuman Stiftung intensiviert ihre Bemühungen vor Ort, um die Demokratie in Europa voranzubringen. Sie interveniert in allen neuen Mitgliedsstaaten der Union, bei den Beitrittskandidaten und den neuen Nachbarn der Union, um mit ihnen privilegierte Partnerschaften zu knüpfen, sie bei ihren Beziehungen mit Europa zu begleiten und zur Schaffung eines mit den europäischen Normen konformen Rechtsstaats beizutragen.

3. Die Forschung und die jungen europäischen Forscher zu unterstützen
Die Stiftung ist eines der Forschungszentren, welches am meisten zur Europäischen Union und ihren Politiken publiziert. Insbesondere gibt sie jungen Forschern die Möglichkeit zur Veröffentlichung ihrer Arbeiten. Sie vergibt ebenfalls Forschungsstipendien an Doktoranden oder Postdoktoranden, die zu europäischen Themen forschen.

Zur Verwirklichung ihrer Ziele verfolgt die Robert Schuman Stiftung eine aktive Publikationsstrategie und organisiert zahlreiche Veranstaltungen.

Die Publikationen

Die Robert Schuman Stiftung trägt über die Veröffentlichung von Werken zur Untermauerung der europäischen Debatte bei. Der Schuman-Bericht zur Lage der Union und Die europäische Meinung werden jährlich veröffentlicht.

Die Stiftung veröffentlicht in ihrer Noten-Sammlung originelle Arbeiten zu den wirtschaftlichen, sozialen und strategischen Entwicklungen, die die Europäische Union prägen und ihre Zukunft beeinflussen.

Jede Woche verbreitet die Stiftung auf elektronischem Wege den Brief(abonnieren Sie sich), der einen Überblick zur europäischen Aktualität bietet. Der in fünf Sprachen (französisch, englisch, deutsch, spanisch und polnisch) erhältliche Brief wird momentan an mehr als 126.000 Abonnenten in der ganzen Welt verschickt. In jedem Brief veröffentlicht die Stiftung eine Studie Europäische Fragen, ein Denkpapier der Stiftung, welches eine Fragestellung von öffentlichem Interesse vertieft, oder aber Europäisches Gespräch, welches die Einsicht von wichtigen Persönlichkeiten zu einem aktuellen Thema bietet.

Das Observatorium der Wahlen in Europa übermittelt in Echtzeit eine detaillierte Analyse der Herausforderungen und der Ergebnisse jeder Präsidentschafts- und legislativen Wahl sowie jeder Volksabstimmung in allen Ländern des europäischen Kontinentes.

Die Stiftung bevorzugt die Verbreitung der europäischen Information bei pädagogischen Einrichtungen, Bibliotheken und Dokumentationszentren. Ebenfalls werden bei jedem großen europäischen Ereignis Informationsbroschüren für die breite Öffentlichkeit verteilt.

Die Veranstaltungen

Weil die Gegenüberstellung von Ideen unverzichtbar beim Vorankommen des europäischen demokratischen Ideals ist, organisiert und partizipiert die Stiftung an zahlreichen sowohl europäischen als auch internationalen Treffen, Konferenzen und Rundgesprächen.

Sie entwickelt verschiedene Forschungsprogramme in Zusammenarbeit mit universitären Zentren und think tanks. Im Laufe der Jahre hat die Stiftung ein gewichtiges Netzwerk von europäischen und internationalen Partnern geknüpft, um zum europäischen Projekt und seinen Zukunftsperspektiven debattieren und sich austauschen zu können. Auf diese Weise trägt sie zur Entstehung eines offenen und multinationalen europäischen Netzwerkes bei, und nimmt einen privilegierten Platz unter den Hauptakteure der öffentlichen Debatte in Europa ein.

Zudem unterstützt sie die Organisation von Ausbildungsseminaren für junge europäische Entscheidungsträger sowohl in den Mitgliedsstaaten der Union als auch bei den Nachbarn.

Die Stiftung wird durch ein Aufsichtbüro und -rat geleitet, die die strategischen Ausrichtungen definieren, sowie durch ein wissenschaftliches Komitee, das über die Ausrichtung der Arbeit entscheidet und ihre Bewertung vornimmt
