On 15th April the Robert Schuman Foundation organised the presentation of its work "The State of the Union, Schuman Report 2009 on Europe" at the Centre for the Foreign Press together with Bruno Le Maire, Secretary of State for European Affairs and many authors.

On 15th April the Robert Schuman Foundation organised the presentation of its work "The State of the Union, Schuman Report 2009 on Europe" at the Centre for the Foreign Press together with Bruno Le Maire, Secretary of State for European Affairs and many authors. This work written under the management of Thierry Chopin and Michel Foucher, with a foreword by Jean-Dominique Giuliani, contains 19 articles by the best European experts, 31 unique colour maps, 68 detailed tables and graphs as well as an exclusive interview with Mr Schäuble, Home Minister of the Federal Republic of Germany. During the presentation of the work Bruno Le Maire said that "this vital, remarkable report" is "a European reference" and that it was "a priceless aid to understanding everything about issues in Europe". He congratulated the Robert Schuman Foundation for the "efficient work" accomplished.

The Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies organises an open lecture by Jean-Dominique Giuliani, President of the Robert Schuman Foundation.

The lecture, titled “Democratic Resilience in Europe in Times of Polarisation,” is organized in cooperation with the French Embassy in Tallinn and the Institut français d’Estonie, as part of the French Week in Tartu. The event opened by Ms. Sophie Coumel, Director of the Institut français and Cultural Counsellor, and  moderated by Dr. Stefano Braghiroli, Associate Professor of European Studies at our institute, .marks the concluding activity of the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence “REPAIR - Rejuvenating Democracy in the EU”, led by the Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies and supported by the European Union’s Erasmus+ Programme.
