On 22nd June 2011 in Brussels the Robert Schuman Foundation and Edelman - the Centre are organising a conference on the future of the European budget after the crisis. On this occasion the Schuman Report on the State of the Union 2011, published in French by Lignes de repères, and in English by Springer, was presented.

On 22nd June in Brussels the Robert Schuman Foundation and Edelman - the Centre held a conference on the future of the European budget after the crisis. Andreas Schwarz (member of the cabinet of the Budget Commissioner Janusz Lewandowski) described the Commission's approach as "ambitious but realistic". Ignacy Niemczycki (Attaché, Permanent Representation of Poland to the European Union) foresaw the Polish Presidency as an honest brooker during an analytical phase, with the Danish and Cypriot Presidency tasked with the negotiations. Anne Vitrey (head of the Directorate for Budgetary Affairs of general Secretariat the European Parliament) claimed that the Parliament is in good shape to face these negotiations. Olivier Debande (Senior economist at the European Investment Bank) explained how the EIB was contributed to the financing of EU priorities. Finally, Pascale Joannin, General Manager of the Robert Schuman Foundation, called for an EU Finance Minister.
