Eric Maurice is invited to speak at the 11th annual conference European Day at the University of Economics, Prague which will be held on 17 April 2019. The topic of this year's conference will focus on 15 years of Czechia's membership in the European Union.

Distinguished guests will discuss Czechia's membership 15 years after joining the European Union, the potential that Czechia has used so far in the EU and the future direction of the integration process and the role of the Czechia in it. Eric Maurice will be part of a round table on "The future of the EU: the French-German engine? What is the role of Czechia in the future of the EU?" Other participants of this round table will be: - Milena Hrdinková, State Secretary for European Affairs, Office of the Government of the Czechia - Marek Mora, Vice-governor, Czech Central Bank Moderator: Ondřej Houska, Hospodářské noviny Partner of the event is the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.

The Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies organises an open lecture by Jean-Dominique Giuliani, President of the Robert Schuman Foundation.

The lecture, titled “Democratic Resilience in Europe in Times of Polarisation,” is organized in cooperation with the French Embassy in Tallinn and the Institut français d’Estonie, as part of the French Week in Tartu. The event opened by Ms. Sophie Coumel, Director of the Institut français and Cultural Counsellor, and  moderated by Dr. Stefano Braghiroli, Associate Professor of European Studies at our institute, .marks the concluding activity of the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence “REPAIR - Rejuvenating Democracy in the EU”, led by the Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies and supported by the European Union’s Erasmus+ Programme.
