In the framework of the Summer European Academy 2019, students from Texas A&M University visited the Robert Schuman Foundation where they learned more about the EU and its politics.

On Thursday, June 20, students from Texas A&M University visited the Robert Schuman Foundation where they were welcomed by Ramona Bloj who gave them an insight into the Foundation's work. Following her introductory speech, Hans Stark, Secretary general of the Study Committee for Franco-German Relations (Cerfa); Institut français des relations internationales (IFRI), gave a lecture on "Franco-German Relations". On Friday, June 21, the group came back to the Robert Schuman Foundation to attend a lecture on "Transatlantic relations in turbulent times - Strategy, economy, culture", which was held by Dr. Mario del Pero, Institut d'études politiques (SciencesPo), Paris.

Democratic Resilience in Europe in Times of Polarisation

The Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies organises an open lecture by Jean-Dominique Giuliani, President of the Robert Schuman Foundation.

The lecture, titled “Democratic Resilience in Europe in Times of Polarisation,” is organized in cooperation with the French Embassy in Tallinn and the Institut français d’Estonie, as part of the French Week in Tartu. The event opened by Ms. Sophie Coumel, Director of the Institut français and Cultural Counsellor, and moderated by Dr. Stefano Braghiroli, Associate Professor of European Studies at our institute, .marks the concluding activity of the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence “REPAIR - Rejuvenating Democracy in the EU”, led by the Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies and supported by the European Union’s Erasmus+ Programme.
