In response to the pandemic, governments have restricted certain fundamental rights such as freedom of movement. Meanwhile, the state of the rule of law in Poland and other Member States continues to be a concern. The European Commissioner for Justice, Didier Reynders, explained how the European Commission is dealing with these issues. Please note that this conference was held in French.

The debate was moderated by Jean-Dominique Giuliani, President of the Robert Schuman Foundation. On  July 10, 2026, the European Institute of Romania (EIR) organized an online
event based on the collective report published in April 2026 and entitled “The EU and Asian
States: Towards a Sustainable Cooperation.”.The participants to the dialogue were some of the co-authors – experts and representatives of the academic community from Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei/ Brunei Darussalam, China, France, Greece, India, Mongolia, Pakistan, Poland and Romania.
