The European Union is taking a firm stance against Russia in Ukraine, in contrast to American diplomacy, which is seen as fluctuating. With more than €180 billion in total aid, it far exceeds the United States and provides more military equipment. Its support is based on the rejection of any change in borders by force and on the defence of international law. United, Europe is showing that it can make its own long-term decisions for its own security and that of Ukraine by imposing its position: a ceasefire without territorial concessions and 19 sanctions against Moscow.
